And what is the VeriChip?
Revelation 13: This calls for wisdom, let the one who understands, calculates the number of the Beast. For it is the number of a man, and his number is his name 666.
For Centuries many people have been wondering what the number 666 means. Is it the name of the Beast, or the Mark of the Beast? Some people believe it happend in the past, perhaps it was Nero Caesar the Roman Emperor who tortured Christians and Jewish people. When the Latin name Nero Caesar translates into Greek and then into Hebrew and all the letters are added up, you get the number 666. However, I am pretty sure Nero was not the Beast
Other people have been called the Beast, sometimes becasue of the numbers of the letters in their names. Like Ronald Wilson Reagan. There is more to the number 666 then just the name of the Beast in Revelation.
Revelation 13:16-17 And he required everyone all persons great and small, the rich and the poor, the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark IN their right hand or a mark upon their forehead and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the Mark, or the Name, or number of the Beast, for it is the number of a man, his number is 666.
Now it gets interesting. Some people believe the Mark of the Beast is coming and that it has already been made. It is called the VeriChip. This VeriChip is a small implantable chip which monitors a human's bio metric functions and transmits the information with GPS technology. So, if a criminal is has one of these chips implanted into his hand then the police will always know where he/she is. Once inserted into the skin, the VeriChip cannot be seen because it is about the size of a grain of rice.
The VeriChip does not just have GPS information, it can also give doctors a patients health information. VeriChips are also used for financial transactions. There a nightclubs in Spain, the Netherlands, and Glasgow where people are using the VeriChip instead of carrying purses or wallets. That way they can dance and not worry about someone stealing a credit card.
Another interesting find, is the bar code. There is a bar code on everything you buy. If you look at the bar code you will notice there are two thin lines on each end, and two thin lines in the middle. They are longer then the other lines. If you count them, you come up with the number 6. Unless the bar codes represent the number 666.
The thing that scared me the most, when I was researching information for this hub is the fact that putting VeriChips into people is included in ObamaCare. "What exactly is a class II device that is implantable? Lets see…in page 1004 of the bill.
Approved by the FDA, a class II implantable device is a “implantable radio-frequency
transponder system for patient identification and health information.” The purpose of a class II device is to collect data in medical patients such as “claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the Secretary.”
So what do you think Is Revelation here, and are 666 and the VeriChip part of the process, and when will we find out?

Your post reveals the reality of 666 in our present world and it is a little shocking. I didn't realize the implants were mentioned in Obamacare. This fact makes way for a powerful ruler/government with control over all human beings (and other creatures). How long do we have until it is truly established? With technology as advanced as it is we really do not have any defense against being "marked" and observed.
i find the verichip intriguing but you misunderstand what the mark is. the mark on the hand represents our actions. the mark on the forehead represents our thoughts. our thoughts and actions will prove who our true master is. when we align our thoughts with man, our actions show this. we obey man over GOD. when we align our thoughts with GOD, our actions show this. we obey GOD over man. to obey man is to obey the beast. when we choose sunday sabbath over saturday we choose man over GOD. when we listen to mans false interpretations of GODs Word so that we may live however we wish to, we choose man over GOD. we choose the mark of the beast rather than the mark of GOD. this is the true interpretation of the mark.

Teaches12345 When I started to read about it for this hub, it did not really surprize me very much until I read about it in ObamaCare. Then I was very shocked. You are correct. The governmtent, not just ours is getting more advanced and having more control over it's people. I keep hearing the phase New World Order. Get's scary to me.
Thank you for your comment and I do agree with most of it, but part of the bible does say people get the mark IN their hands. They cannot buy or sell without the mark. It is the IN their hands that is interesting. Something would be place INTO someone's hand. That is why I thought of the VeriChip or something like the VeriChip.
consider this though. when it comes down to the wire, and christianity is banned, people must declare their allegiance to GOD or denounce HIM in order to buy or sell. those who declare for GOD will be taken care of by HIM. but many will denounce HIM with their lips believing they can worship HIM in their hearts, not realizing that doing so has condemned them. CHRIST said if we acknowledge HIM before man HE will acknowledge us before GOD. Daniel refused to quit praying to GOD even knowing that to do so meant his death, and GOD saved him.
Timcgaa70 You are very correct. That is what we need to do. We need to love God, and pray to God, it is going to be a hard time but God loves us. And remember Daniel and others who loved God more then they loved themselves.

I enjoyed reading this interesting hub. I too am hearing the phrase New World Order several times each year from a variety of people now. I've never heard it much in prior years. Last year I heard about the chips for club goers in Spain and I could not believe people would allow an implant just to be able to not keep track of a credit card or purse. I also must say that I cannot possibly know if we are in times of Revelation because I truly thought that began on September 11th, 2001 as I had never seen such destruction and disregard for life.

the times spoken of in Revelation have been happening since the crucifiction of CHRIST. in many translations it says certain people will come out of "the great tribulation" where as the KJV bible says only "great tribulation". adding the word "the" changes the meaning of the statement greatly. it causes people to think there is some great tribulation that will happen when in truth it means all true believers who have gone through tribulation and been purified. and remember that GOD will shorten the days of the end for HIS elects sake. we shall all go through the things to come, no one will be caught up till all is done with.

Very interesting. I think the mark of the beast is the carnal mind. God concluded us all in unbelief, or as beast. I do think the chip is just a manifestation of what is already here spiritually. Very good read. Thanks!

Michele, it would take much time to explain, but I think the Mark of the Beast, is a spiritual application, the head meaning the mind, and the right hand symbolizing authority being that those that are his are under his mind and his authority. Every one who is not born again, the Bible clearly indicates, that they are beast so I think when someone rejects Christ and seals their heart that they then receive the Mark, being the Spirit of Satan inside, Grace being lifted they have no more hope of Salvation. Their body being the Temple and the Anti Christ (Satan) sitting in their showing himself to be god and thus there temple is defiled and God must now destroy it. Just my random thoughts. I do however think the chip issue has to do with this as well, as people being treated like cattle will be branded, or the Chip as they can know all about you and you cannot buy or sell without it.

Great Hub as usual Michele. I agree this is one possibility. I don't think it is actually going to be that difficult however. I will explain in a related article later. Allot of this has to do with the "DNA Markers", the MARK of man. We all already have it and it gets a bit more complicated based on the understanding of the Koine Greek of the New Testament.

This was a well done hub. The hub and the comments are very interesting. I'm going to look up the chip and the health care bill. I know the chip has been available for individuals for some time - to be used for your medical files. I would like to know if the bill is requiring you to have one or is it optional. Have to read page 1004. The 666 theories are always interesting. I'm not scholarly enough to be able to comment, only read and research. Thank you for giving so much information.
Cyndi, right now the chip is optional. It is not forced and not even been talked about been on the news very much. I looked it up to find information about it. There is some information that is not true, but some that is. So, just be careful when you do read it.

We all have our own point of view and it should be honored by all of us. no one should ever force religion upon someone. That has been the source of torture, deaths, and even war in the history of the world.
Hi Michele, another of those complicated topics you do well in getting us to think about. In Revelation, the 666 as representative of the beast and man is in contrast with the seal, in 7:3-4, and the name of the Lamb and the Father on the foreheads of the 144,000, 14:1. Those not belonging to the Lamb of the divine are of and belong to the beast of humanity. What I'm thinking we are to understand that in the time of the end there will be a sharp division and identification as to who each person will belong to; the Lamb or the beast. This is arrived at at the end of chapter 13. Then, chapter 14 starts the ball rolling towards the destruction of the beast and all that belongs to it.
